Visutech attracts big names to Sign & Print.
Elanders large digital investment, the key behind the Norwegian Gelatos success and 3D-printing in practice. These are some of the highlights when Visutech Digital Academy moves to the exhibition Sign & Print Scandinavia.
– We want to help our customers and partners by sharing knowledge and experience in digital printing, says Trond Nilsen, responsible for Visutech Digital Academy.
Since 2011, Visutech arranged the Digital Academy. Today, the Academy is held about once a month, either at Visutech in Mölndal outside Gothenburg or as a tour around the Nordic region.
– Usually, we gather around a theme and invite interesting speakers who can contribute knowledge and experience in these areas.
During Sign & Print Visutech will build a stage and, for the first time, take the Digital Academy to the exhibition. There will be seminars each day between 10-12 and 14-16, with several exciting speakers per day.
– We see that there is a great interest in digital printing and a craving for knowledge, that's why we do this activity.
In total, there will be around 16 interesting speakers from the industry contributing, who will give examples of how they work with digital printing.
One of the highlights is the story of Elanders huge investment in digital printing, which launched at Drupa earlier this year. Peter Sommer, CEO Europe and Gustaf Albert CEO Sweden, will talk about the company's new direction.
– It will be very exciting to hear about their reasoning and their thoughts about the future, says Trond.
Another interesting story is the Norwegian Gelato, which since its inception in 2008 has grown significantly without owning one single printing press. We listen to Gelatos Chief Operating Officer Fredrik Andersson, who talks about the company's different, but successful model, where the entire transaction takes place online.
Lilach Sapir from Massivit will talk about the new 3D technology in large format.
– This is one of the big news at the show, where we not only get to hear about all the fantastic opportunities, but also may see real products in place, as we have a Massivit 1800 3D printer on the stand.
The brothers Billes also participates and talk about their journey from a small screen printing business into one of Sweden's broadest and most innovative printing companies.
– Billes has become one of the largest players in the printing industry and can do almost anything in their printing house. They will also talk about their new ordering system POFF, where about 60 percent of all the job orders at Billes today enter.
