Markbladet Digitaltryck, one of Sweden’s leading digital photo printing providers, continues to strengthen its position in the market by investing in the new HP Indigo 120K HD – the first of its kind in the Nordics. The press will be delivered and installed in May by Visutech, HP Indigo’s channel partner in the region.
Markbladet Digitaltryck produces and delivers photo products directly to consumers on behalf of some of Sweden’s largest brands, while also operating its own e-commerce platforms for photo products and posters under brands such as Fotoklok.se, Framkalla.com, and Dearsam.se. The company operates in a fast-paced environment where short lead times and high quality are essential. With the new HP Indigo 120K HD, Markbladet is preparing for the next stage of its growth journey.
“We have a demanding production setup, both in terms of quality and delivery speed. This new press gives us the capacity to deliver more in less time – and we can do it with the same team. That means we can scale efficiently and meet increasing customer demand without adding another shift,” says Tomas Hammarström, CEO of Markbladet Digitaltryck.
Built for high-volume productivity, the HP Indigo 120K HD offers a 30% speed increase compared to previous generation presses – and up to 50% higher output thanks to a highly automated and streamlined production workflow. This makes it ideal for commercial and photo applications where speed, quality and flexibility are key.
Key features include:
Gripper-to-gripper technology, like offset presses, ensuring sheet stability and enabling media flexibility across a wide range of weights.
Auto Color Adjustment, which continuously monitors and corrects color throughout the run, maintaining Delta E ≤ 1 color consistency – freeing up operator time.
Auto Pallet Replacement System, allowing uninterrupted production by switching pallets automatically when full.
Multiple paper input options, including feeder drawers and pile feeder, allowing near-seamless operation with minimal manual intervention.
EPM & ECO print modes for higher speed (up to 6,000 sheets per hour in 3-color EPM) or reduced running cost (ECO mode at 4,500 sheets/hour).
In addition, the press is equipped with advanced automation powered by AI:
Print Quality Maestro provides predictive maintenance guidance and readiness checks before jobs start.
Automatic Alert Agent 2.0 scans every printed sheet for defects and automatically reprints any faulty copies, with no operator involvement.
Markbladet has also chosen to run the press with five colors – CMYK plus Light Light Black – to ensure optimal output for even the most demanding photo applications. Combined with 1600 DPI HD imaging, the press delivers superior sharpness, tonal transitions and detail reproduction.
A more sustainable print process with CMYK+ and longer-life consumables
The HP Indigo 120K HD also supports the shift to more sustainable production. The upcoming CMYK+ ink system, developed over five years, uses a thinner ink layer and reduces ink consumption by around 20%—without compromising quality. This leads to fewer ink changes, less packaging, and reduced shipments, improving both uptime and environmental impact. CMYK+ also eliminates the need for an Imaging Agent, and the new PIP+ plate lasts twice as long, cutting replacements by 50%. Together, these innovations are expected to reduce CO₂ emissions by 15% per printed job.
“With the HP Indigo 120K HD, Markbladet is not just investing in higher speed and quality – they are investing in a smarter, more automated future. This setup offers exceptional performance, reliability and room to grow,” says Patrik Agblad, Segment Manager Commercial Print at Visutech.
The installation is now taking place by Visutech’s experienced Field Service Engineers, ensuring a smooth and efficient integration into Markbladet’s existing workflow.
